All the gossip from the O2 Silver Clef Awards 2012 - Kylie Minogue, Jessie J and more!

All the gossip from the O2 Silver Clef Awards 2012 - Kylie Minogue, Jessie J and more!

Earlier today we threw on our finest party dress and made our way down to the super fancy Hilton hotel on Park Lane, where the O2 Silver Clef Awards were taking place.

Now in its 37th year, the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards honour artists from across the music industry, whilst raising money for the Nordoff Robbins charity.

We saw plenty of big celebs doing the rounds, including Mel C, Michael Buble, Michael Ball and DJ Norman Cook. They all looked as well-preened as you'd imagine, especially that crooner Michael Buble, who, by the way, spent £10,000 in the charity auction. He bought a set of Jessie J gig tickets and a watch – and all for charity. What a guy.

Nice work Kylie!

The day's big winner was queen of pop Kylie Minogue who won the 25th Anniversary Award for being in the business for a big old quarter of a century. Can you believe it's been that long?

Kylie was close to tears when she received her very shiny award and gave a touching speech.

"Oh wow. Thank you. Hi everyone. It's so good to see you all again – it's been a while. I can't believe it's been 25 years!

"I don't really know how to express my gratitude to everyone for being so supportive for all those. I'm actually shaking. Don't say anymore; I'll crumble; I'll fall to pieces, because it really is such a big year for me to be with all you in the industry. You all know how trying it can be at times, and I just really appreciate all the support and of course to all the people out there who enjoy the music – thank you very much."

Winners galore

Musical legend Andrew Lloyd Webber was awarded the coveted Sony Mobile Lifetime Achievement Award by the girl he discovered when she auditioned for a part in one of his musicals – Jessie J.

As well as giving out awards, Jessie also received recognition herself. Her good pal from The Voice, Sir Tom Jones presented her with the Royal Albert Hall Best British Act Award, but not before calling her a 'nutcase'.

She said: "Winning Best British Act Award makes me shake, as you can see, and it just makes me feel like making music is the most amazing thing and to be able to do it for such an amazing, prestigious charity is even better, so thank you very much to everybody and [pointing at Tommy J] 'bruv'.

Other winners included Emeli Sandé, who was honoured with the American Express Innovation Award; presented to her by Tinie Tempah. And Connor Maynard received the Tag Best Newcomer.

Connor also won the slightly-too-young-for-us-to-fancy-but-we-still-do award. But you'll have to come collect that from us personally, Connor.
