Hollyoaks catch-up: Bart and Callum stress about money

Hollyoaks catch-up: Bart and Callum stress about money

Last night's episode was pretty brilliant, even though everyone was stressing about money.

Joel texts Bart saying he's not happy that the weed's been raided – what a bully! It's not as if it was Bart's fault! Anyway, just in case he's not threatened enough, Brendan finds him and says he owes Joel £4000 for the cannabis plants. Bart sells Dirk's caravan – but only gets £600 for it. He then swings by school to steal some computers. But Jen catches him. She says she can help if he tells her who's after him, but he stays quiet. He seems so shaken that she lets him go...without stealing anything, obvs.

Meanwhile, Callum's stressed not only about exams but the bills that are piling up. He makes Martha promise that she'll pay the bills today. But when Jack comes round to get the rent, she's drinking and refusing to pay. Callum demands that Martha write Jack a cheque. But as soon as Jack leaves, she confesses that the cheque will bounce because she's lost her job. Uh oh.

Myra is worried sick about Bart. She tries to recruit Carmel into helping her – but Carmel doesn't want anything to do with the McQueen dramas and goes on a date with Ed from the gym. Myra asks Jacqui for help, and of course she knows exactly how to find Bart. She wants to know who's pulling his strings but he won't tell her. He owns up to selling Dirk's caravan, and tells her that he still needs to scrape together even more cash - £3,400 more! Jacqui says she'll help him.

Jacqui tells Diane – who knows everything about Bart from Sinead – that as soon as he turns up to hers, she's got to let Jacqui know. As predicted, Bart goes to Sinead's to say goodbye. Diane lets him in, and sends a text – we're guessing it's to Jacqui? They tearfully declare their love for one another, and kiss lots and say goodbye. Bart says Jacqui's helping him escape – and it's true, she's said to Myra that Bart needs to be well out of the way, out of reach of whoever he owes money to – and leaves.

Very very soon after, a police officer turns up at Diane and Sinead's. Sinead runs away to find Bart, who's ready to escape in his car. She tells him that Diane's called the police so they both have to run away. How on earth is Sinead meant to get her exams finished now?
